Job summary

SpaceX Hawthorne is seeking a Supervisor for Starship Machining on the 2nd shift. You will lead a team of machinists and deburr technicians to build a world-class shop, ensuring high safety and quality while maintaining a production schedule that supports increasing launch rates.

The role requires leadership, CNC experience, and effective communication across engineering and production teams to optimize delivery and throughput.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of up to 25 machinists and technicians through daily work assignments and feedback.
• Track shop floor metrics and partner with engineering to maximize delivery rate and utilization.
• Set and maintain a tight production schedule to meet downstream valve assembly demand.
• Ensure employee safety through regular assessments of equipment health and PPE usage.
• Assist commissioning of CNCs and transition parts to high-volume production.
• Drive continuous improvement and manage tooling inventory, cost, and storage.
