Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist (Starship) to contribute to the production of flight-critical hardware. You will set up, operate, and edit programs for Okuma mill-turn machines to ensure precision parts and on-time delivery.

Join a fast-paced team on 1st or 2nd shift (5:00 AM or 2:30 PM). You’ll handle tooling, deburring, maintenance, 5S adherence, and process documentation while pursuing continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; 1+ years CNC machining experience.
• 5+ years CNC experience preferred.
• Experience using Esprit CAD/CAM software and Okuma CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision setup, operation, and program editing of CNC machines (Okuma mill-turn) for production of non-flight and flight-critical hardware.
• Prioritize daily production tasks to meet customer need dates while delivering high-quality parts.
• Manage CNC cutting tools, ensure proper loading, measurement, and readiness before program execution.
• Perform on-machine deburring to improve part quality and reduce manual intervention.
• Perform CNC machine preventive maintenance weekly and monthly.
• Maintain shop organization and cleanliness with 5S practices and proper documentation of data.
• Provide support to teammates and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Record work instructions and test plans and propose improvements to tooling and fixtures.
