Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a control systems engineer for the Starlink Guidance, Navigation, and Control team in Redmond, WA. You will apply dynamics and closed-loop control expertise to achieve precise pointing on satellites, work on design trades, simulations, and flight code, and deploy features in space.

You will design actuators and attitude control, develop high-fidelity simulations, and contribute to hardware tests, verification, and production software in a fast-paced startup atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, physics or an engineering discipline.
• Software development experience in C++.
• Experience with design and analysis of closed loop control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, analysis, and implementation of electromechanical control systems (solar array actuators, antenna gimbals, high bandwidth active optics).
• Design and implement satellite attitude control and momentum management systems.
• Develop high-fidelity simulations using C++, Python, and MATLAB; integrate into collaborative tools.
• Implement, validate, and deploy production software (C++) for the described systems.
• Provide engineering and data review support for hardware development and fleet monitoring.
