Minimum Qualifications:

  • Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to calmly, courteously, and tactfully handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
  • Must be a trained and certified barista.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Dependability and integrity reflected in past work records.
  • Prior food handling experience.
  • Supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Increase sales through effective marketing and merchandising of products in the Department.
  • Assist in supervision and direction of department personnel to ensure quality customer service.
  • Delegate job assignments and responsibilities to associates in accordance with duty rosters.
  • Order and maintain stock and supplies, monitor conditions and appearance throughout the department.
  • Monitor code dates and product rotation, removing out-of-code product.
  • Hold personnel accountable for their job responsibilities.
  • Write department schedules, coordinating requests, bids, and business needs.
  • Assist customers in selecting and purchasing specialty coffee beverages and whole beans.
  • Maintain a clean and appealing customer service area and equipment.
  • Demonstrate Customer 1st Behavior when taking care of customer needs.
  • Prepare various customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day.
  • Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station.
  • Perform cleaning tasks according to standards and work as a team player.
  • Present oneself professionally and communicate clearly with all customer and partner interactions.
  • Perform equipment maintenance as per preventative maintenance checklists.
  • Follow cash handling and register policies.
  • Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
  • Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies & procedures, especially regarding dress code, grooming, sanitation, and harassment/discrimination policies.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict reasonably and non-confrontationally.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
  • Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction.
  • Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
