Job summary

Nixon Power Services is seeking a Generator Technician in Raleigh, NC. This hands-on role keeps standby generator systems in top condition and supports timely service to customers. You will troubleshoot, repair gas and diesel engines, and install new units, with emergency response as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Technical School Certificate or Military training is a plus.
• 1+ year of generator experience is preferred, 1–5 years recommended.
• Experience with Kohler Power Systems a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
• Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units.
• Install and test new generator units.
• Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency.
• Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
• Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.
