Job summary

Nixon Power Services in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Generator Technician to join our team. You will perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems and troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.

This hands-on role requires the ability to install and test new generator units, respond to emergency jobsites, and complete quotes and reports while adhering to safety procedures. A High School diploma or GED is required, with technical training a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–5 years generator experience required.
• Experience with Kohler Power Systems a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.
• Repair and adjust transfer switches and perform major repairs on units.
• Install and test new generator units.
• Respond quickly to jobsites in case of emergency.
• Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner.
• Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
• Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.
