Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking personnel for General Service in the Press Department on the 2nd shift (3pm-11pm). The role involves catching stamped parts, inspecting them for defects, and ensuring quality as they exit press machines in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include sorting, stacking, communicating with operators, and reporting issues. PPE is required and overtime may be necessary based on production schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires prior experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
• Comfortable around heavy machinery, noise, and repetitive motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Stand at end of press machines to catch parts safely and efficiently.
• Inspect parts for defects such as cracks, bends, burrs, or surface flaws.
• Sort acceptable parts from non-conforming ones based on quality criteria.
• Stack approved parts in designated containers following procedures.
• Communicate with press operators and quality personnel about part quality or equipment concerns.
• Record and report defective parts or recurring issues to supervisor or quality team.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and dispose of scrap properly.
• Wear PPE and follow safety guidelines for press operations.
• Support press changeovers by preparing materials and assisting operators.
• Participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities in the press shop.
