Job summary

Qualdoc in Richmond, VA is seeking a skilled Miscellaneous Metals Fabricator to fabricate and assemble stairs, ladders, and metal components from blueprints. You will layout, cut, fit, weld, and finish using diverse fabrication equipment while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will read technical drawings, perform inspections, and collaborate with project managers to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven metal fabrication experience.
• Experience with FCAW welding; certification preferred.
• Ability to read detailed shop drawings and blueprints.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between priorities.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble stairs, ladders, and miscellaneous metal components according to blueprints and shop drawings.
• Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, shears, press brakes, welders, and grinders.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, shop tickets, and specifications.
• Perform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing of metal components.
• Perform quality checks to ensure work meets company and client standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other fabricators to complete projects accurately and on schedule.
• Assist with troubleshooting fabrication issues and developing practical solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and schedules while maintaining quality standards.
