Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking a Metal Fabricator to build and assemble stairs, ladders, and miscellaneous steel components in Hanover, PA. You will read shop drawings, perform metal layout and fitting, weld components, and operate fabrication equipment while meeting quality and safety requirements.

This contract-to-hire role requires FCAW welding and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Hands-on metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with FCAW welding is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal stairs, ladders, and other structural components using blueprints and shop drawings.
• Operate saws, shears, press brakes, welding machines, and grinders.
• Interpret shop tickets, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Perform metal layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing.
• Inspect completed work to verify accuracy and quality.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fellow fabricators to complete work on schedule.
• Identify fabrication problems and help develop effective solutions.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
• Adjust to changing assignments and project deadlines without compromising quality.
