Job summary

The fabricator at Tyson Foods is responsible for fabricating new parts and repairing systems using welding processes. They support maintenance to keep the facility running efficiently before, during, and after production.

Daily duties include welding, inspecting welds, coordinating with maintenance, and ensuring safety, quality, and documentation are maintained across shifts. This role requires physical endurance and adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to weld using GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW processes.
• Primarily stainless steel GTAW.
• Must be able to design, read and interpret blue prints including rough drafts.
• Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools.
• Able to identify industry-standard parts.
• Able to work independently or as a team in a safe and efficient manner.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Maintenance Management assessment and referral required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate equipment malfunctions and corrective actions through appropriate channels.
• Follow GMP, HAACP, PSM Program, company policies and safety programs (LOTO).
• Assist maintenance on rebuilds, installs and projects throughout the facility.
• Complete and maintain required paperwork and reports.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections; report findings.
• Complete welding projects using various ferrous materials.
• Test and inspect welded structures for quality assurance.
• Assist in covering the floor with maintenance staff when required.
• Other duties as required.
