Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Staffing Manager within the Nutrition Support Services to lead recruitment, staffing and employee relations for 2,200 school-based roles across 600+ sites. This exempt, full-time position reports to the NSS Executive Director and drives workforce planning aligned with district goals.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, HR certifications, 5+ years in HR generalist roles with supervisory experience, and familiarity with union environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; HR certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in HR Generalist roles with supervision.
• Experience with union environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws, benefits, and labor regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead NSS staffing operations and direct the staffing team.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and internship programs.
• Manage employee relations, coaching, and performance issues.
• Develop strategy for workforce planning and staffing pipelines.
