Job summary

ClearSky Health is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to manage nursing department staffing, ensuring proper patient care ratios and timely coverage across all shifts, including planning for inclement weather or emergencies.

You will maintain attendance logs, coordinate with staffing agencies and PRN pools, assist with timesheets and payroll as needed, communicate attendance issues to supervisors, and uphold safety, confidentiality, and infection prevention standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years’ experience in a health care setting required.
  • Scheduling experience in a medical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Staff nursing department to ensure appropriate coverage and patient care ratios.
  • Maintain attendance logs for all required staff with current statuses.
  • Coordinate securing nursing staff to fill planned absences and emergencies.
  • Assist Nursing management with timesheets and payroll needs; investigate discrepancies.
  • Coordinate PRN pool to meet coverage needs at all times.
  • Communicate attendance issues to DON and HR; participate in staffing emergencies.

This position must integrate company values into daily practice.Essential Functions:Works with Nursing management to establish appropriate staffing patterns and schedules for Nursing department personnel.Maintains staff attendance logs on all necessary staff so logs are current, accurate, and reflect proper employee status at any given time.Coordinates securing nursing staff to fill planned absences, leaves, and unplanned call-ins and special needs during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies. May include coordinating with staffing agencies.Assists Nursing management with timesheets and other staffing related payroll needs. Investigates discrepancies as required.Coordinates PRN pool with Nursing management to ensure ability to meet coverage needs at any time.Communicates attendance issues to DON and HR as needed.May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards.Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.Completed required trainings, as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization.Minimum Job RequirementsMinimum Education & Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required.Two (2) years’ experience in health care setting required.Scheduling experience in medical environment preferred.Required Licenses, Certifications, and/or Documentation:NoneRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.Demonstrates critical thinking skills.Demonstrates typing and working math skills.Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.Effective organizational and time management skills.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Physical Requirements Over the Course of a Shift:A significant amount of sitting, often for prolonged periods of time.Lifting/exerting of up to 25 lbs.Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard.Close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to hear overhead pages.
