Job summary

Emerald Nursing and Rehab Columbus is seeking a highly organized Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler to join our HR team in Columbus, Nebraska. This role involves coordinating and maintaining nursing staff schedules to ensure residents receive the best care possible, while managing staffing needs, attendance, and on-call rotations.

The position reports to the Administrator and is Full Time, 8am-5pm with on call rotation.

Qualifications

• Prior scheduling experience, preferably in healthcare or skilled nursing.
• Active CNA license required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with scheduling software (Apploi, OnShift) is a plus.
• Knowledge of state staffing regulations for skilled nursing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage staff schedules for nursing and support teams.
• Ensure adequate staffing levels in accordance with state regulations and facility needs.
• Communicate shift changes, open shifts, and schedule updates to staff in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, time-off requests, and shift swaps.
• Collaborate with HR and nursing leadership to address staffing challenges.
• Assist with recruiting and onboarding new staff as needed.
• Monitor compliance with policies related to attendance, punctuality, and staffing requirements.
• Provide support in handling last-minute schedule adjustments due to emergencies or call-offs.
