Additionally, MedPage is expanding its Opinions section and our Enterprise & Investigative team highlights important issues for clinicians, fostering engagement and influence in medicine.

We are hiring a staff writer to produce 4-6 clinical news articles weekly, with potential focus areas including infectious disease and gastroenterology, though versatility across specialties is a plus. The ideal candidate has significant medical news writing experience, can promote their work on social media, and actively follow article comments. They should have a network within a medical specialty or be skilled at developing new contacts at academic medical centers. The role involves travel to medical conferences for in-person coverage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Write 4-6 clinical news stories weekly, taking assignments from various staff members.
2. Identify the most significant news in assigned specialties that will resonate with healthcare professionals.
3. Travel to cover medical meetings in assigned specialties.
4. Promote work on social media, grow followers, and generate story leads for themselves or pass to the Enterprise & Investigative team.
