Job summary

BetterUp is seeking a Staff/Lead Workday Engineer to own and optimize Workday configuration, security, and integrations across the HR tech stack. You will partner with Total Rewards, HR Ops, and IT leadership to deliver reliable, compliant systems while driving AI-enabled improvements.

You’ll lead architecture and integrations for Workday and connected systems, manage releases, and mentor teammates, with a hybrid in-person work expectation at designated U.S. hubs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in HR systems with hands-on Workday experience
• Proven ability to lead complex Workday projects independently
• Strong knowledge of Workday integration design and security controls
• Experience with AI/automation within HR tech stack
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable system solutions

Responsibilities

• Own the Workday configuration, security roles, and business processes across modules
• Manage access controls, audit logging, and release management for Workday
• Design, build, and maintain integrations with connected systems
• Define and drive the AI roadmap within Workday and adjacent tools
• Ensure SOX ITGC controls and maintain audit-ready system documentation
• Mentor teammates and influence cross-functional stakeholders
