Job summary

Harvey is seeking a Staff Web Developer to lead the architecture of our web platform, spanning Next.js, Sanity, and backend services. You will shape reliability and performance while aligning with product goals.

You will build data foundations and integrations with marketing, analytics, CRM, and GTM, establish automation, CI/CD, and testing, and raise the team’s technical bar through mentorship.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Web Development experience with deep back-end and systems expertise.
• Strong command of the modern web stack — React/Next.js, TypeScript, and SSR, plus back-end depth (Node, Python).
• Experience with headless CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentful) at scale.
• Proven experience building production systems: CI/CD, IaC, observability, performance optimization.
• Fluency with SQL/NoSQL, caching, queuing, API/webhook integration for marketing/GTM.
• Experience integrating AI/ML into production web experiences or content workflows.
• Ability to mentor engineers and operate autonomously in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of Harvey's web platform end to end — Next.js/Vercel, Sanity, and backend services.
• Design data foundations and integration patterns connecting the site to marketing, analytics, CRM, and GTM.
• Establish automation, CI/CD, preview/deploy tooling, and robust automated testing.
• Set observability standards—logging, tracing, Core Web Vitals, performance budgets, alerts.
• Lead how AI/ML capabilities apply to web workflows and bridge product engineering with web engineering.
• Partner with Security and Infrastructure to harden the platform without slowing developer experience.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small, front-end-focused team.
