Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional UX or design research experience.
• Experience translating behavioral or usage data into qualitative research that changed a product roadmap.
• Ability to run both qualitative and quantitative research, including logs/behavioral data analysis and experiment design (A/B testing, statistical significance, sample sizing).
• Experience researching AI-driven or algorithmic features, with an eye toward explainability, trust, and appropriate confidence-setting.
• Ability to translate emotionally complex findings into concrete design principles teams can build against.
• Strong storytelling and stakeholder communication; able to influence product and design decisions without formal authority.
• Can operate independently across multiple concurrent research workstreams and thrive in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end research across generative, evaluative, and strategic studies to understand personalized biometric insights and how trust is built or lost in recommendations.
• Design and run rapid experiments (A/B tests, multi-armed variants, staged rollouts) as primary research tools for validating personalization changes.
• Lead research into AI- and LLM-powered recommendation experiences and adapt methods as needed.
• Study how personalization should adapt across member segments, health contexts, and engagement levels.
• Help define what “trustworthy” means operationally for Oura's personalization surfaces and how to hedge uncertainty.
• Embed research early in roadmap and planning conversations with Software Design, Product, and Data Science.
