Job summary

Stryker's Mako Robotics team is seeking a Staff level User Interface and Experience Designer to shape UI for robotic-assisted orthopedic surgery, based in Weston, FL or Kalamazoo, MI with remote/hybrid options.

You'll translate complex workflows into intuitive interfaces, develop production-ready design specs, and collaborate across engineering, product, and design teams to drive the next generation of Mako applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related design field or equivalent professional experience is required.
• 4+ years of professional UI/UX design experience is required.
• Proficiency with Figma and design systems is required.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop intuitive software interfaces for Mako robotic-assisted surgery applications, with an initial focus on THA.
• Create high-fidelity interface designs, screen layouts, interactive prototypes, and reusable UI components using Figma and established design systems.
• Translate complex clinical workflows, product requirements, and user needs into clear, functional, and accessible software experiences.
• Apply visual and interaction design principles, including typography, color, layout, navigation, messaging, component states, and user feedback.
• Develop detailed, production-ready UI specifications that accurately communicate design intent to software development teams.
• Create and manage design assets, component libraries, naming conventions, documentation, and version-controlled design deliverables.
