Job summary

Discord is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager to drive security, IT, and compliance programs at a high-scrutiny pace. You will partner with Security, IT, Legal, Privacy, and GRC to implement initiatives across SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST frameworks.

You will own multiple complex programs, partner with executive leadership, and help scale control maturity while aligning with product velocity. The role reports to the Director of TPM in Security and IT.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Technical Program/Project Management experience in security, IT, or infrastructure engineering teams.
• Experience with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS).
• Experience partnering with Engineering, Legal, Privacy, and Trust & Safety to implement compliance requirements.
• Track record moving programs from concept to completion with measurable risk reduction and audit-readiness.
• Ability to break down complex challenges and drive progress toward achievable outcomes.
• Comfort presenting risk posture and program status to C-suite audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional programs spanning security, IT, and compliance.
• Guide multiple complex programs with competing timelines and resources.
• Develop an ownership model for code, products, and programs.
• Support BYOD/MDM, identity & access, and third-party risk management initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to mature the control environment while maintaining product velocity.
• Streamline security incident management processes and escalation paths.
