Job summary

Duolingo is seeking a Staff-level TPM/Engineering leader to drive strategic cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch. You will oversee complex DET programs with partners across engineering, product, data science, legal, security and external stakeholders, delivering durable execution.

You will operate with autonomy across workstreams, guiding teams and aligning leadership to ensure timely launches while maintaining a focus on scalable processes and strong collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading TPM/engineering teams.
• Experience communicating technical issues to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Ability to plan and coordinate across multiple teams in an agile environment.
• Willingness to relocate to Pittsburgh, PA.
• Strong leadership in a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of strategic cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch.
• Lead complex, high-stakes programs within DET domain with engineering, product, data science, legal, security and external stakeholders.
• Operate at Staff level with autonomy, guiding multiple workstreams and delivery.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA, product management and leadership to align teams.
• Develop detailed plans with milestones, mitigate risks, and ensure timely launches.
• Identify and resolve delivery blockers with leadership collaboration.
• Make tough tradeoff decisions and model calm, analytical leadership.
• Mentor and scale standard processes across teams.
