Job summary

Duolingo is seeking a Staff TPM to lead a high-impact program aimed at dramatically increasing developer productivity across the organization. You will partner with DevAmp to drive AI-powered tooling, establish clear goals, and deliver measurable impact with autonomy across multiple workstreams.

Ideal candidates bring proven TPM or engineering leadership experience, strong executive presence, and a track record of delivering large-scale technical transformations.

Qualifications

• You have proven experience as a TPM, Engineering Lead, or Engineering Manager.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree or experience.
• Experience leading large-scale technical transformation programs with measurable impact.
• Strong executive presence and influence in a matrix environment.
• Deep technical credibility to challenge architectural assumptions.
• Ability to plan under ambiguity and coordinate dependencies.
• Track record of starting new programs in high-visibility settings.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the roadmap for doubling developer productivity across Duolingo.
• Lead organizational change management as engineering teams adopt new ways of working.
• Partner with DevAmp area leads to accelerate productivity with AI-powered tooling.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch with autonomy across workstreams.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data science, QA, and executives to align strategy with execution.
• Develop detailed plans with milestones, mitigate risks, and ensure timely launches.
• Evangelize engineering practices to improve developer productivity and coach teams.
• Drive tough tradeoffs with cross-organizational impact, using analytical rigor.
• Identify systemic issues affecting delivery and resolve them quickly.
• Guide and develop TPMs and engineering leads, scaling best practices.
