Job summary

Snowflake is hiring a Staff Security Engineer, Threat Detection for a fully remote role open to candidates across the United States. You will build AI-enabled detections, integrate with CI/CD, and partner with security and engineering teams to strengthen the threat detection program.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in security engineering, strong Python/Go, and experience with large-scale logs, cloud providers, and agent-based workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of security engineering experience in threat detection, incident response, or related fields.
• Strong coding ability in Python or Go with experience building detections and automation.
• Experience handling large-scale log/telemetry data with SQL or Python.
• Experience with production code, tests, VCS, and CI/CD integration.
• Experience developing and operating agent-based workflows (e.g., LangGraph).
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Understanding SaaS risk vectors and AI-enabled security value.
• Risk-based approach with collaborative mindset in a zero-ego environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy detections using modern engineering practices (testing and validation, CI/CD pipelines, detections as code).
• Mature threat detection program by analyzing coverage gaps and mitigating risks with AI/ML approaches.
• Make data-driven recommendations for detective and preventative controls based on threat models and threat hunts.
• Design and build automations and AI-driven workflows to strengthen security posture.
• Build and maintain partnerships to deliver detection as a service with reusable components.
• Continuously measure and improve detection quality across coverage, precision/recall, false positives, and latency.
