Moog Inc. is seeking a Staff Test Engineer to own end‑to‑end EGSE test solutions for spacecraft avionics, including hardware, software, and documentation.

You will design test boxes, build LabVIEW UIs, and write automation scripts in Python/Perl, interfacing with embedded SBCs and C&DH hardware to ensure mission readiness. The role emphasizes on‑site work in Phoenix, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and collaborate across systems and firmware teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in aerospace/defense test engineering with hands‑on ownership of EGSE hardware + software + documentation.
• LabVIEW: production‑grade instrument control and operator UIs.
• C – embedded systems and Python/Perl for test automation and data handling.
• Experience selecting/integrating COTS instruments and designing test fixtures/cable assemblies.
• Ability to write clear ATPs/I&T plans and maintain schematics/parts lists.

Responsibilities

• Design & build EGSE for spacecraft avionics: select COTS instruments, design test boxes/panels, and develop cabling/harnesses.
• Develop test software: LabVIEW UIs/VIs for instrument control; automation scripts in Python/Perl; integrate with embedded code.
• Interface with embedded SBCs and analog/digital I/O for C&DH; support EPS/power switching use cases.
• Author formal test documentation: Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, ATPs, schematics/BOMs.
• Execute & improve: run test campaigns, troubleshoot anomalies, drive root cause actions, mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally: partner with systems, firmware, manufacturing test, and program management.
