Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to join our Phoenix, AZ team. You will own EGSE hardware, software, and documentation across the test lifecycle, collaborating with systems, firmware, and program management to meet schedule and technical goals.

Candidates should have 3+ years in aerospace/defense test engineering, strong LabVIEW experience, and skills in C and Python. COTS integration and fixture design are key, with on-site work and career growth within Moog’s avionics programs.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years in aerospace/defense test engineering with hands on ownership of EGSE hardware + software + documentation.
• Proficiency in at least one of: LabVIEW for production grade instrument control/UIs.
• C for embedded systems programming.
• Python and/or Perl for test automation and data handling.
• Experience selecting/integrating COTS instruments and designing custom test fixtures/cable assemblies.
• Ability to write clear ATPs/I&T plans and maintain schematics/parts lists.

Responsibilities

• Design & build EGSE for spacecraft avionics: select COTS instruments, design custom test boxes/panels, and develop cabling/harnesses.
• Develop test software: build LabVIEW UIs/VIs for instrument control and telemetry; author automation scripts in Python and/or Perl; integrate with embedded test code (VxWorks/C).
• Interface with embedded SBCs and custom I/O for Command & Data Handling; support EPS/power switching use cases.
• Author formal test documentation: Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans, ATPs, and configuration controlled schematics/BOMs.
• Execute & improve: run test campaigns, troubleshoot anomalies, drive root cause actions, mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate cross functionally with systems, firmware, manufacturing test, and program management to meet schedule, cost, and technical goals.
