Job summary

Moog in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Sr Test Engineer to own end-to-end EGSE hardware, software, and documentation for spacecraft avionics testing. You will design, build, and validate test solutions and collaborate across systems, firmware, and manufacturing teams.

The role emphasizes LabVIEW, C, and Python/Perl for test automation, with hands-on hardware, test scripts, and documentation responsibilities driving mission readiness and customer acceptance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in aerospace/defense test engineering with ownership of EGSE hardware and software.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, C, Python and/or Perl for test automation and data handling.
• Experience selecting/integrating COTS instruments and designing test fixtures/cable assemblies.
• Ability to write clear ATPs/I&T plans and maintain schematics/parts lists.
• Strong debugging across analog/digital interfaces; able to read schematics and telemetry.
• U.S. person due to export-controlled work.

Responsibilities

• Design and build EGSE for spacecraft avionics, selecting COTS instruments and custom fixtures.
• Develop test software: LabVIEW UIs/VIs, Python/Perl automation; integrate with embedded code.
• Interface with SBCs and C&DH hardware for test campaigns.
• Author Integration & Test Plans, Environmental Test Plans and ATPs.
• Execute and improve test campaigns, troubleshoot and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, manufacturing test and program management.
