Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Systems Engineer for Requirements and Verification to join our Systems Engineering team. Location options include San Diego, El Segundo, or Palmdale, CA, with on-site work only.

The role includes leading RVPs, system test verification, and cross-functional reviews, with up to 10% travel. Required are a STEM degree with 12+ years (or a MS with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years), and a TS clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor/Master/PhD in STEM with relevant military/professional experience as required.
Active US Government Top Secret clearance with recent background check.
Ability to obtain SAP clearance within business needs.
Experience supporting Systems Engineering Milestones SRR, PDR and CDR.
Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering: requirements decomposition, test planning, verification, and management.
Experience with requirements and verification management in DOORS.
Experience with requirement decomposition and traceability from System to Unit/Supplier.
Experience with managing suppliers with technical requirements and verification expectations.
Experience leading a technical team.

Responsibilities

Develop Plans: Author Requirement Verification Plans (RVPs) and System Test & Verification Plans for each IFC.
Coordinate Approvals: Lead technical reviews and secure cross-functional approval for verification methods within the RVP.
Collect Data: Review Verification Data Products from System Test to confirm they meet the specification.
Author Reports: Create Requirement Verification Reports (RVRs) and System Test & Verification Reports to close IFC activities.
Manage Customers: Coordinate internal and cross-IPT reviews of RVRs and manage the customer comment/approval process.
Partner with SMEs: Work with Subject Matter Experts to gather data for analysis or verification methods.
Review Test Procedures: Collaborate with System Test engineers to develop test procedures.
Lead Peer Reviews: Participate in test procedure and system verification peer reviews.
Adjudicate Findings: Analyze and resolve test findings with understanding of system behavior.
Define Features: Author use cases, technical requirements, and feature acceptance criteria for system definitions and DRs.
Investigate Issues: Analyze early findings and anomalies for potential impacts on core requirements.
Coordinate Readiness: Align with Responsible Engineers and System Test teams for mature integrated functions.
