Job summary

Hidden Level in Syracuse, NY, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead internal product development and customer integration across radar and sensor systems throughout the lifecycle.

You will design architectures, verify system performance, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Occasional travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Overview:

Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. We're looking for a Staff Systems Engineer who will apply their skills to lead internal product development and customer integration and adoption activities. This will be achieved through the analysis and support of sensor systems at each stage in the product lifecycle from conceptualization to deployment and maintenance.

Location:

This position is located in the Syracuse, NY office with the potential for hybrid arrangements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implementation of algorithms and analysis methods and tools for radar, direction finding, or other surveillance sensor systems
• Lead the development of system architecture for new hardware designs
• Organize and participate in design reviews
• Collaborate with Software, Systems, Digital and RF engineers to advance overall product capabilities
• Play an active role in the validation and verification of both design and system-level capabilities
• Provide professional mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of professional experience
• Extensive knowledge of:

• Radar and/or communication systems using software-defined radios, custom hardware, and/or other COTS devices
• State estimation, data fusion, and Kalman filtering techniques and their implementation in tracking algorithms
• Sensor performance modeling and simulation
• Digital signal processing
• Analytical programming platforms such as MATLAB or Python

• Ability to travel 10%

Salary Range:

The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $134,000 to $174,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
