Job summary
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL seeks a Staff Systems Design Engineer to coordinate cross-disciplinary system design, decompose requirements, and guide MBSE-driven development using DOORS and related tools. This on-site role requires a strong background in DoD platforms, MBSE, and system interfaces.
Ideal candidates have 8–12+ years in STEM and hold US citizenship with the ability to obtain Secret clearance.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics or STEM with 12+ yrs experience.
- MS in STEM with 10+ yrs experience.
- PhD in STEM with 8+ yrs experience.
- Proven analytical thinking and problem solving.
- Experience with Agile and cost/schedule constraints.
- Experience decomposing requirements for DoD-based platforms or systems.
- Experience delivering technical presentations.
- US Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate across disciplines to ensure system requirements and design are defined and captured.
- Decompose requirements, support trade studies, and guide design decisions.
- Use MBSE and DOORS to generate/update specifications and verification matrices (VCRM).
- Deliver technical presentations and communicate with stakeholders.
