Job summary

Maxinsights is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to shape a storage system that is easy for business teams to use and relentlessly cost-efficient. You will own its architecture, data organization, and long-term evolution as workloads grow.

You will design storage architectures around workload needs, pursue cost reductions through tiering and deduplication, and build self-service interfaces for ingestion and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Design and operate large-scale storage systems with focus on consistency, replication, and capacity planning.
• Diagnose I/O bottlenecks and optimize data structures for real workloads.
• Demonstrate strong cost discipline by quantifying storage, retrieval, network, and operational costs.
• Excel in cross-team communication, reconciling needs and building consensus.
• Experience delivering storage migrations or shared data services across teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design storage architecture around workload needs including data layout and access patterns.
• Reduce total cost via tiering, lifecycle management, compression, deduplication, and minimize data movement.
• Build self-service storage interfaces for ingestion, discovery, access, and troubleshooting.
• Align product, data, research, and infra teams on requirements and migration plans; verify improvements in production.
