Attentive is seeking a Staff Engineer to join the Platform Infrastructure team, delivering a fast, reliable platform handling billions of events daily. You will design scalable systems, mentor engineers, and influence technical roadmaps as you partner with AI/ML, Data, Platform, and Product groups.

The role emphasizes reducing cost, improving observability, and driving reliability through SLIs/SLOs while collaborating in a high-impact, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Production Engineering, Backend Engineering, SRE, DevOps or similar role.
• Strategic visionary with ability to plan beyond immediate problems.
• Proficient problem-solver with coding ability in at least one language (e.g., Go, Python, Java, TS).
• Track record of delivering medium to large-scale projects improving reliability and scalability.
• Deep understanding of production reliability concepts (SLIs/SLOs/incidents).
• Strong verbal and written communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-impact solutions to improve reliability, observability, traceability, and incident management while ensuring scalable platforms.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and drive strategic projects with technical leadership.
• Partner with AI/ML, Data, Platform, Product teams to build best-in-class services.
• Set and enforce production standards, processes, and tooling for operational excellence.
• Champion reliability goals by applying SLIs, SLOs, and other metrics across the org.
• Mentor team members and foster growth of future engineering leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement by introducing innovative ideas and challenging the status quo.
