Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to lead reliability strategy for a broad, high‑scale platform. You will architect mission‑critical systems, enforce SRE standards, and guide cross‑functional teams toward highly available, observable services.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience with a focus on large-scale system reliability.
Expertise in system architecture, cloud platforms, and automation frameworks.
Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, service meshes, and distributed tracing.
Experience with monitoring/logging platforms (Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
Hands-on experience building AI agents and tools that integrate with ops.
Ability to reduce TOIL by automating repetitive operational tasks.

Responsibilities

Architect and oversee mission-critical systems with focus on availability and scalability.
Define and enforce SRE best practices and operational standards.
Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance reliability, performance, and efficiency.
Mentor engineers on production-grade agentic solutions and AI integration.
Develop capacity planning and load testing strategies to mitigate risks.
Drive AI-enabled incident response, runbook automation, and anomaly detection.
