Job summary

WEX, Inc. is seeking a Senior SRE leader to define and enforce reliability standards across all lines of business. You will drive AI-powered reliability engineering, establishing guardrails, SLO/SLI frameworks, and production readiness for mission‑critical systems.

You will partner with engineering leadership, platform teams, and LOB architects to scale reliability practices, reduce toil, and improve availability, latency, and transactional integrity for high‑volume financial transactions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or distributed systems
• Hands-on experience operating mission‑critical systems at scale
• Experience with high‑availability, low‑latency systems with transactional integrity

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce enterprise SRE standards across all lines of business
• Lead enterprise AI-powered reliability engineering strategy and adoption of SRE agents
• Architect and oversee mission‑critical systems to meet reliability and performance targets
• Own production readiness reviews and remediation when gaps are found
• Serve as technical advisor to engineering leadership on reliability and operational excellence
• Lead cross‑LOB initiatives to implement enterprise standards and tooling
