Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Freiburg, Germany is seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer to lead testing across features and systems. You will design, implement, and maintain test strategies for both manual and automated testing within an Agile environment.

You will collaborate across product, architecture, development, and QA teams, mentor junior engineers, and help ensure compliance with medical device software standards.

Qualifications

• BS in software engineering or computer science with 4+ years of software testing experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Knowledge of medical device software life cycle standards: 21 CFR part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304.
• Experience in system software testing, both manual and automated.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage test activities for features or projects.
• Define, design, implement, and maintain test equipment and strategies.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, development, DevOps, and testing teams to design testing approaches.
• Provide in-depth analysis to resolve technical issues, anticipate risks and ensure timely escalation.
• Lead test effort estimation, test planning and risk analysis activities for features or projects.
• Manage resources, testing schedules, and quality expectations for features or projects.
• Develop manual/automation test strategy or design documentation.
• Create manual/automation procedures and process documentation to enable end-users to successfully operate system software.
• Design and develop test platforms for new and existing complex products from concept to implementation.
• Provide mentoring and trainings as needed.
