Job summary

Stryker Instruments Test Lab seeks a Senior Test Engineer to drive development, verification, and lifecycle testing for next-gen medical devices. You will coordinate with Product Development, define test protocols, and lead test methodology development across shifts to keep projects on track.

You will work with Metrology, Quality, CAE, and Test Operations to ensure rigorous testing and timely delivery, including duties across 1st shift with occasional 2nd/3rd shift coverage to keep tests moving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science is required, preference for Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree, preference for Masters/PhD.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required with a B.S.
• Basic understanding of testing, testing equipment, good laboratory practices, and department metrics.
• Proficient use of common laboratory test equipment is required.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist design groups and internal customers from research to final verification testing.
• Select test equipment, develop test methods, create fixtures, set-up test systems, and execute testing.
• Design, develop, and implement high quality test systems customized to the product being tested.
• Demonstrate knowledge of good laboratory practices, testing standards, statistics, and lab safety.
• Communicate proactively as the key contact between stakeholders and the lab.
• Assist with test guidelines and revise specifications as needed.
• Evaluate, recommend, and maintain engineering-related test systems.
• Support Lab management with priorities, scheduling, and technician training.
