Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Test Engineer for a full-time, permanent role in the medical devices space focused on diabetes technology. You'll test mobile apps and their integration with embedded firmware and cloud/server components, working hands-on across the system.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in testing/quality engineering, hands-on Appium automation, experience with BLE devices, and a track record in regulated medical device environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software testing/quality engineering.
• Experience testing connected medical devices and embedded firmware.
• System/integration testing across mobile apps, hardware/firmware, and cloud/server components.
• Hands-on test automation using Appium and Java/Python/C++.
• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Position: Staff Embedded Software Test Engineer

Duration: Full Time, permanent role

Compensation: $140-175k, 100% company covered health benefits, annual bonus, RSUs, 401K matching, and unlimited PTO.

Project: Medical Devices in the diabetes space

Desired Experience

• 10+ years of software testing/quality engineering experience with demonstrated senior or Staff-level technical ownership.
• Prior experience testing connected medical devices, including software/mobile applications that communicate with physical devices or embedded firmware.
• Experience with system and integration testing across mobile applications, connected hardware/firmware, and cloud or server components.
• Hands-on test automation experience using Appium and a programming language such as Java, Python, or C++.
• Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Day to Day Responsibilities

A growing medical device company developing connected diabetes-management technology is seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer. This individual will play a highly hands-on role testing mobile applications and their integration with connected medical devices, firmware, and cloud/server components. The engineer will own test cases and features from development through completion, perform both manual and automated testing, troubleshoot issues across the broader system, and collaborate closely with mobile, firmware, and server engineering teams. The role will require strong technical ownership, system-level thinking, and experience testing connected products within a regulated medical device environment.
