Job summary

EarnIn is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to own testability as a core engineering discipline. You will design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs that expose testability as a platform feature, including test hooks and synthetic data generation, while embedding quality practices across the org.

This role emphasizes building platform tooling, AI-enabled test generation, and secure, observable services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience building production backend services.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and building testability infrastructure, internal developer tools, or platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs that expose testability as a platform capability.
• Architect and implement test-only interfaces and hooks that safely manipulate system state for testing.
• Evangelize testability and quality engineering practices across cross-functional teams to influence design from day one.
• Build and own internal tooling, SDKs, and libraries to enable testability across engineering teams.
• Define and track quality/testability metrics across services and drive adoption with data.
