Vast, based in Long Beach, CA, is building next-generation space stations and infrastructure. They seek a Staff HPC Infrastructure Engineer reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure to support design and build of artificial-gravity space stations.

This full-time role is in Long Beach and focuses on developing and maintaining Vast’s HPC infrastructure used by engineering teams. The role requires 8+ years in HPC, deep SLURM/Linux knowledge, and collaboration with engineering groups.

Competenze

• 8+ years of HPC administration and architecture or relevant industry experience.
• Experience supporting HPC clusters for Aerospace or related industry.
• Deep understanding of SLURM and Linux.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to design and administer HPC systems.
• Proven leadership in technical initiatives from concept to deployment.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Mansioni

• Build, support, and architect Vast’s HPC infrastructure.
• Design and implement HPC performance and cost-optimization improvements.
• Support engineering teams using HPC for analyses.
• Own lifecycle of HPC infrastructure including updates and maintenance.
• Integrate HPC with NX/Teamcenter and post-processing in design cycles.
• Onboard new applications and users to the HPC environment.
