Job summary

SageSure Insurance Managers LLC is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve software that supports customers, partners, and business operations. You will solve complex problems, influence architectural decisions, and lead scalable, reliable systems in a fully remote engineering organization.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, QA, architects, and other engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions, establish engineering standards, and ensure health of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including solving complex technical problems.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java/TypeScript/Go/Python/C#).
• Experience designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining APIs, services, distributed systems, or modern software applications.
• Experience with databases and applying software design, architecture, testing, and development best practices.
• Proven technical leadership, ability to influence direction of complex initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and collaboration across remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications, services, APIs, and platform capabilities.
• Lead the technical design and implementation to support high transaction volumes and evolving customer needs.
• Partner with product managers, QA, architects, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Set technical direction, architecture, design patterns, system integrations, and engineering standards.
• Identify performance, scalability, reliability concerns and implement improvements.
• Deliver software through automated build, test, deployment, and CI/CD processes.
• Ensure code quality via automated testing, reviews, and documentation.
• Communicate plans and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to other engineers through pairing and code reviews.
• Collaborate across teams to tackle shared challenges and advance platform capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve delivery and developer productivity.
