affirm is a remote-first company with a flexible approach to location. We seek an experienced software engineer who can own backend systems, design scalable architectures, and drive secure, reliable product features.

You will collaborate across product, design and analytics to deliver high-impact improvements, mentor teammates, and help shape technical strategy for the year ahead. Strong communication and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent are required.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficient in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale (Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
• Proficient in web apps using React or Vue.
• Experience delivering major features or system components with execution plans.
• Comfort with moving from low-level to architecture of large systems.
• Strong communication with a global engineering team.
• Equivalency or a related Bachelor's degree is acceptable.

Responsabilidades

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long horizon.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in the lifecycle.
• Act as a force-multiplier for technical solutions and processes.
• Own team operations, availability, monitoring, playbooks, testing, and on-call readiness.
• Set code review and design standards and evangelize them beyond the team.
• Develop talent by mentoring and guiding team members.
