Job summary

Opencall is building AI call centers for medical services. As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll act as a technical leader, partnering with founders, product, and engineering to identify high-impact problems and set direction for scalable solutions.

You’ll own critical systems across our realtime voice platform, agent runtime, dashboard, and analytics pipeline, designing for 100x growth, maintaining latency and reliability, and mentoring engineers to raise the bar on engineering practices.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of large-scale systems or complex initiatives.
• Experience leading technical direction for large, ambiguous projects.
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript; strong frontend experience with React.

Responsibilities

• Own critical systems across our realtime voice platform, agent runtime, and infrastructure from design through execution.
• Define architecture, technical direction, and engineering standards for complex projects.
• Partner with product and business teams to identify opportunities and tradeoffs.
• Design and evolve systems to support 100x growth in traffic and complexity.
• Mentor engineers and improve engineering practices.
