Job summary

Pear Suite in the United States is seeking an experienced Senior or Staff Software Engineer to shape the architecture and technical direction of our platform. You will own the design and implementation across frontend (React/TypeScript), backend (GraphQL), and cloud infrastructure (GCP).

You will lead technical initiatives from proposal through delivery, mentor engineers, set standards for quality and performance, and collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership on priorities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack development.
• Deep expertise in React, GraphQL, and TypeScript.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining cloud architectures (GCP).
• Strong architecture and system-design judgment, with a track record of decisions that held up in production.
• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on development with strategic design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, reusable software across the full stack: frontend (React/TypeScript), backend (GraphQL), and cloud infrastructure (GCP).
• Lead technical initiatives from proposal through delivery, balancing hands-on development with strategic design.
• Set technical standards and raise the bar on quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Document technical decisions and designs clearly, for both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Thoroughly test individual pieces of code and the system as a whole; champion software engineering best practices.
• Mentor other engineers, formally or informally.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on technical priorities and trade-offs.
