Job summary

Pear Suite in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to shape the architecture of our care navigation platform. The role spans senior and staff levels, combining hands-on development with technical leadership across frontend, GraphQL backend, and cloud infrastructure (GCP).

You will lead architectural direction, set coding standards, mentor engineers, and partner with Product and Engineering leaders on priorities. This fully remote position offers equity and strong growth.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack work.
Deep expertise in React, GraphQL, and TypeScript.
Experience designing cloud architectures on GCP.
Strong architecture and system-design judgment.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable, reusable software across the full stack (frontend, backend, cloud).
Lead technical initiatives from proposal through delivery.
Set technical standards for quality, performance, maintainability.
Document technical decisions for engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership.
At Staff level: own architecture for a major system used across the org; lead multi-engineer initiatives.
