Walmart in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead design, development, and deployment of scalable platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. You will own the full software lifecycle and mentor engineers to drive technical excellence.

The role emphasizes cloud-native architecture, data-driven decisions, and collaboration across teams to deliver robust, maintainable software aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Preferred: Master’s degree with 2 years' experience and accessibility/ WCAG 2.2 AA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities: coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture to ensure scalable, resilient systems.
• Lead system design reviews to validate quality and architectural alignment.
• Build AI-driven applications with intelligent automation using multiple languages.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate problems into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and products with data-driven decision making.
