Job summary

CoreWeave is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve the software that runs and automates our vast GPU cloud network. You’ll design, implement, and lead complex backend systems in Python and Go, with a strong emphasis on reliability, automation, and scalability.

You will collaborate across Network Engineering, Observability, and HPC teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to a high‑performance culture in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building/operating production infrastructure or backend systems at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Go.
• Solid CI/CD experience (testing, code review, automated deployments).
• Strong runtime health management for services and applications at enterprise level.
• Love of process automation; experience building workflow automation/orchestration systems and automated device provisioning at scale such as Zero Touch Provisioning.
• Strong planning skills for multi-month projects with multiple parallel efforts.
• Strong, well-reasoned technical opinions with openness to better ideas.
• Solid understanding of core networking fundamentals: IP addressing, subnetting, routing, NTP, DNS.
• Comfort with Linux and Kubernetes; experience with Ansible and Jinja, NetBox (IPAM/DCIM), and observability tooling like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Excellent written communication; mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and long-term health of platforms and services that automate the network (config generation, device provisioning, workflow automation, observability tooling, internal CLIs and APIs).
• Plan complex projects months in advance; map dependencies; manage parallel efforts.
• Lead technical direction via RFCs, design reviews, and architecture decisions; decompose problems.
• Write production-grade Python and Go code; enforce quality with tests and robust error handling; uphold CI/CD standards.
• Improve reliability and operability by defining SLI/SLOs and reducing toil through automation.
• Collaborate with Network Eng, Observability, Fleet Eng, and HPC teams for fit into broader system.
• Join on-call rotation when ramped; drive blameless incident follow-up and remediation.
• Mentor engineers; review code and designs; grow team skills.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
