Job summary

Walmart in Bentonville, AR is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to explore and implement scalable software solutions. You will assess gaps, write user stories, and drive regression testing across multiple components.

You will design microservices using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot and Kafka, deployed in Kubernetes with Docker, Istio, and service registry. You will monitor with Grafana/Kibana/Prometheus and lead CI/CD pipelines using Maven, GitHub, Sonar and Snyk.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing Web Applications with React Js, Next Js and Node JS.
• Experience developing microservices for backend services using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot and Kafka.
• Experience deploying containerized applications in Kubernetes environment.
• Experience with RESTful web services in Java and FHIR compliant APIs.
• Experience building microservices with Docker, Istio and service registry.
• Experience developing Kafka-based microservices and monitoring dashboards (Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus).
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Maven, GitHub, Sonar and Snyk.
• Experience with production deployments using ServiceNow processes and change control.

Responsibilities

• Explore relevant software products and solutions to address business/technical needs.
• Assess gaps between customer expectations and existing software and classify requirements.
• Create user stories for software components and applications.
• Analyze defects and perform regression testing across code changes.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and monitor software performance metrics.
• Design software solutions so components work in tandem with business needs.
• Translate requirements into test strategy and ensure coverage of test scenarios.
• Assist in conversion of high-level designs into detailed software designs.
