Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Marketplace Engineering team. You will help shape architecture, scalability, and reliability of Walmart's core platforms and services powering the third-party seller ecosystem.

You will lead design discussions, build scalable microservices, leverage Kafka, Cassandra, Spark and Airflow, and mentor engineers across global teams while ensuring DR, CI/CD, and observability.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
• Deep proficiency in Java (JDK 21), Spring Boot, Kafka, Cassandra, Spark and Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of distributed fault-tolerant backend systems.
• Drive high- and low-level design discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Build scalable services and data pipelines using Kafka, Cassandra, Spark, and Airflow.
• Write clean, performant code and establish engineering best practices.
• Lead architecture and development of platform capabilities for Marketplace Capital products.
• Mentor engineers across multiple levels and geographies.
