Job summary

The muralgroup is seeking a staff engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area to own the imaging pipeline that underpins every clinical result. You will shape ingestion, registration, segmentation and analysis across cloud-based workflows.

You will develop new targeting algorithms and bring ML into production, running the pipeline on AWS with containers and IaC. Mentoring engineers and following medical device design controls are key.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with imaging or scientific data focus.
• Expert Python and Git proficiency.
• MRI data handling (DICOM, NIfTI) and QC.
• Experience with ITK/ANTs/FSL or FreeSurfer.
• Strong statistical and ML know-how brought to production.
• MS in CS/engineering/physics/math, or equivalent experience.
• Nice to have: AWS Batch and GPUs; IEC 62304; deep learning for medical imaging.

Responsibilities

• Own the cloud imaging pipeline: ingestion, registration, segmentation, analysis.
• Develop new targeting algorithms and AI methods for clinical use.
• Run and scale the pipeline on AWS with containers and IaC.
• Cut runtime and extend the pipeline to new clinical uses.
• Mentor engineers and work within medical device design controls.
