Job summary

Walmart Global Tech in Bellevue, WA, seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Marketplace Platform to design and maintain advanced frameworks powering Walmart’s Marketplace for sellers and channel partners. You will code, debug, optimize, and monitor performance while mentoring juniors and collaborating with product and UX/UI teams.

You will lead the Marketplace Platform API, enabling third‑party developers and driving architectural decisions for scalable, cloud‑native systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or related field with 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering.
• Experience in ecommerce or marketplace platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Coding/building: 60% hands‑on coding, reviews, debugging, and optimization.
• Mentoring & learning: provide mentorship and foster knowledge sharing.
• Architecture & design: drive architectural vision and scalable system design.
• Collaboration: work with cross‑functional teams for seamless integration.
• App health, quality, performance: monitor health and improve performance.
