Job summary

Rula, a remote-first company, is building the Marketplace Health Engine and seeks a Staff Software Engineer to shape scalable backend systems that improve provider utilization and patient access at scale.

You will partner with Engineering, Product, Data, and Operations, mentor engineers, and stay hands-on in development, driving technical strategy across the Marketplace organization. If you enjoy solving complex marketplace problems, we’d love to hear from you.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building scalable distributed systems.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and influencing technical strategy without direct authority.
• Experience designing and building backend services, APIs, and data‑intensive systems (AWS preferred).
• Experience partnering effectively with Product and Data to deliver business outcomes.
• Experience solving complex marketplace, platform, or large‑scale operational problems with measurable impact.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical and non‑technical stakeholders around a shared vision.
• Experience driving projects end‑to‑end, from discovery and design through implementation, launch, and post‑launch support.
