Job summary

Headway is building a scalable platform to deliver insurance-covered therapy across all 50 states. As a Staff Software Engineer in Insurance, you will own design and implementation of core systems—from patient eligibility to pricing estimates and provider matching—while mentoring engineers and delivering high-impact code at the healthcare data-payer frontier.

Qualifications

• Experience building data-heavy, production-grade systems for scale and reliability.
• Ability to design interfaces between payer rules, claims, and provider matching.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of systems powering Headway's insurance operations: patient identification, pricing estimates, provider matching, and claims.
• Build data-intensive, ML-powered platforms serving patients and providers and learn from every visit.
• Mentor engineers and write high-impact code at the intersection of healthcare data and payer operations.
• Improve accuracy and reliability with production ML models and automated workflows.
